October 3, 2006. KSA (Knickerbocker Sailing
Association) welcomes you to MONTHLY MEETING & SOCIAL at The Marquee, 356
Bowery, New York, NY (Between Great Jones and East 4th Street) - a special
events facility adjacent to
Marion's Continental in the East Village. 6:30 pm - Members start to
arrive at the restaurant. Everyone pays for dinner and puts on a name tag. There
is a bar in the meeting room and people buy their own drinks and socialize until
7:15 - 7:30. 7:30 pm - We start the meeting, the Commodore gives a brief
explanation of who we are and what we do. Various board members talk about
ongoing projects such as the newsletter, upcoming flotillas, sailing workshops
etc. Club members can ask questions or make comments during this time, decisions
are made by voting. Anyone who has showed up for the first time is asked to
introduce themselves and tell the group a little bit about their sailing
experience. It is not at all uncommon for people to say they have no experience,
they just want to know more. Captains (boat owners) are asked to stand up and
tell a little bit about their boat and where they keep it. 8:30 pm -
Buffet dinner is served, more socializing. Captains have a chance to meet crew,
vice versa. For more information contact
info@ksa-nyc.org or visit
www.gaysailing.org. NEW AND PROSPECTIVE MEMBERS ARE WELCOME!
